Casey Stoner's performances this season to make MotoGP legend, Michael Doohan, amazed. With the potential it has, Stoner is believed to be able to equal his record of world champion Valentino Rossi.
A fantastic achievement was achieved by the Honda rider. Of the 15 races that have been staged, Stoner successfully occupy the podium 14 times and won eight races in between.
MotoGP Jerez became the only series in which Stoner failed to reach the podium. But it was not because of runoff from other drivers, but because of engine failure that forced Stoner should end the race on lap-7.
Until now, Stoner still leads the standings with 300 points with three races remaining championship course. Australian drivers were even closer to the title of world champion for the second time.
Seeing the fantastic appearance Stoner, Doohan believe that Stoner could achieve something more. If you always perform consistently, is not impossible that Stoner will be able to equal the record champion Doohan (five-time champion) and Rossi (seven-times champion).
"I think he at least take five years to the current way to match what I have achieved (duna champion five times), and even rival Valentino Rossi (seven-times world champion)," said Doohan told Fox Sports.
"The future looks good for the world of motor racing in Australia." he added enthusiastically.
Stoner will be 'home' to the house with the MotoGP racing circuit that will be visited Phillip Island, Australia, October 16.
Win would be a necessity not only for Stoner to make closer to championship title but victory would be a special gift on his birthday the 26 th falls on the same da
